The What? The Why and the How of Fibromyalgia
You have fibromyalgia... My doctor said. Stunned and in pain, I was going through many emotions. I just sat there, still shocked, yet relieved, because now I had a starting point to being cured... Or, so I thought until the doctor said "there is no cure, but we can manage it." Excuse me, huh, come again... You said there's no cure? Then, she gave me a Prednisone pack (steroids) that I already knew I was not going to take because I, on top of this FMS also suffer from a fear of taking prescription medicines. Now, what was I going to do?
Now understand me, ALWAYS take your prescribed medications, and ALWAYS discuss any changes or concerns with your doctor first.
My doctors are aware of my phobias, and we work together to overcome them. However, not being comfortable taking steroids, especially starting out at six, then five, then four, and so on until they were all gone, I knew at that point that I would have to research natural medicines and essential oils for the management of this fibro thing. I researched, educated myself, and started putting some of those natural techniques to work on myself and I have been pleasantly satisfied. I do have less pain and I can be more mobile more often than not. You're still going to have periodic flare-ups and painful days, but for the most part, you should feel better.
